Age: 292, appears to be in her mid-late 20's
Species: Toreador Cainite
History: Bet was born the last child of Henry Grey, the Duke of Kent, and his wife Jemima Crew. Her real name and official title was Marquess Elizabetta Abigail Grey. Not being a boy was a huge disappointment to her father, who arranged her marriage as early as possible. Her betrothed was nearly two decades her senior, and she would have been married the week after her 11th birthday, since she had begun to have her period, thus old enough to bare children. Bet, always wild and willful, disliked her future husband, and decided to run away.
She stole a stable boy's clothes and gave herself as a cabin boy to a merchant ship. It was near immediately raided by pirates at sea, and she was forced to work for the pirates instead. It went well, until she began to grow too old to play a boy. She confessed to the captain her true gender, and instead of turning against Bet, the captain agreed to help her integrate with the crew. There were many many adventures and hardships, but eventually she grew to adulthood, with a fantastic reputation in the pirate circles. She bought her own ship, and commanded her own crew.
Eventually, at port, she came across the man who would become her sire. An irish nobleman, who was clearly slumming. Bet decided to take the blue eyed, beautiful man to bed for the night. He killed and turned her long before the dawn. But Bet, ever refusing to bend to the rules, separated from her sire within a fortnight of her embrace, kicking him from her ship in the middle of the ocean. She spent many years functioning as the vampire captain of a living crew, and they took to playing a ghost ship to more easily subdue merchant vessels.
But she couldn't stay a pirate forever. She eventually turned her ship into a merchant vessel itself, and set up her own shipping company under a false identity. She bounced around London for a few decades, pretending to be her own young brother, and then herself as his sister. Finally, moving out of England, she set her sights on America.
Much happened in the many years that past, but the main happenings came about in the early 1900s when she was picked up, and mildly indebted, to a pair of rare Methuselah vampires. She stayed with them longer than anywhere in her life, forming a longer lasting family-like bond. Though it was by far not one's traditional family. She played companion to Locke as a stand in for the cold and reserved Morrigan (whom Bet superficially resembled), though that relationship turned far more friendly than sexual, very quickly. She stayed with them as a body guard, even unto their adopting of two neonate Toreadors, Lily and Chris.
Personality: Bet is snarky, carefree, and fun loving. She almost never seems to take anything too seriously, and lives like it's her last night on Earth. Which is something she does very much on purpose. While she may come across as casually unaffected, she does have deep passions and opinions.
She hates seeing women oppressed, and nothing will set her off faster. Though she won't, usually, fly right off the handle. She likes to leverage her strength, verbally and socially, if she's able. And THEN she gets physical. And she does love to get physical. Sometimes not even out of anger. A good brawl is a good time. She likes drinking and sex, and generally just enjoying the pleasures of existence.
Sex: Bet is bisexual, with a bit of a preference for men. With women she prefers to play the dominant party, while with men, she'll switch depending on mood.
Inventory: The clothes on her back, and a cellphone that gets no reception.
Powers:
Auspex: Level 3 (Heightened Senses, Aura Perception, & Spirit's Touch)
Presence: Level 4 (Awe, Dread Gaze, Entrancement, & Summon)
Celerity: Level 5 (Alacrity, Swiftness, Rapidity, Legerity, & Fleetness) - moves at super human speeds. She must choose to activate this ability, and can use it at any level she possesses as she so desires.
Potence: Level 5 (Prowess, Might, Vigor, Intensity, & Puissance)
Fortitude: Level 5 Aegis - Incredibly resistant to damage, bullets will literally bounce off of her body, so long as she has the vitae to sustain the ability. It is reflexive, and she doesn't need to decide to use it. However, she can decide not to use it.
She's also an ambidextrous gunslinger, and swashbuckler. She's well versed in the care of guns of all kinds, including single shot pistols all the way up to grenade launchers.
